Media Technician (Role 2)

The STEAM [R2] Media Tech runs ProPresenter! They manage everything on the projector screens from lyrics, verses, sermon notes, iMAG if used, etc. In addition, they deliver media to the livestream keyers, lobby tvs, and confidence monitors. Must understand formats, resolutions, aspect ratios, and conversions. The [R2] Media Tech role is scheduled by the [R10s] Scheduling Manager on Planning Center.

Must show proficiency in written communications and grammar. Understanding music arrangement and song sections are important, along with knowing song lyrics. The ability to follow written checklists and verbal direction is imperative. Of course a friendly demeanor and positive attitude is also required. Ultimately, we are looking for a servant heart and a love for others.

  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for performing and submitting all checklists assigned.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for creating macros for all functionality required for the service.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for organizing and creating all looks required for the service.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for setting up the ProPresenter setlist with all media files.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for setting up and starting all timers for the service.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for setting up and assigning all macros for each slide.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for presenting accurate and timely lyrics for the worship set.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for presenting announcement videos and slides when appropriate.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for presenting the sermon notes and all bible verses.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for coordinating with [R6] Playback Tech for lyrics automation.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for training any volunteers being onboarded in this role.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is responsible for working with the [R11] Tech Director on relevant improvements.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to maintain accurate blockout dates in Planning Center.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to quickly accept or decline role assignments in Planning Center.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to arrive early and well-prepared for the service or event.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to show up looking professional with a non-distracting appearance.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to complete role setup before scheduled service or event begins.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to complete role teardown and cleanup before leaving.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to remain focused on role for the duration of service or event.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to leave phones, food, and drinks behind the safety tape line.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to attend any worship team and STEAM team gatherings.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to invest in building relationships with team and congregants.
  • The [R2] Media Tech is expected to perform minimum independent study for continuous improvement.
  • Weekly independent study: 1+ hours (minimum)
  • STEAM briefing meeting: 15 minutes
  • Tech Role Setup: 30 minutes
  • Worship Rehearsal: 1.5 hours
  • Sunday Service: 1.5 hours
  • STEAM debriefing meeting: 5 minutes
  • Tech Role Teardown: 30 minutes
  • Total Weekly Time Commitment: 5.5 hours, approx.
  • Weekly independent study: 30 minutes (minimum)
  • Tech Role Setup: 15 minutes
  • Worship Rehearsal: 1 hours
  • Sunday Service: 1.5 hours
  • Tech Role Teardown: 15 minutes
  • Total Weekly Time Commitment: 3.5 hours, approx.
