STEAM trained resources are formally managed and scheduled at least 7 days in advance of all events (unless impossible, i.e.: funeral or other emergency event), according to their availability and willingness to volunteer. All STEAM volunteers are given this courtesy to maximize future volunteer willingness to serve and to minimize potential volunteer burnout. Please help us maintain this professional heads-up by planning early and coordinating clearly.
All scheduling requests must be made in writing to the [R10s] Scheduling Manager or the [R10c] Communication Manager, and need to include a description of role requirements (so we know who to schedule, and when). We arrive early to make sure everything is ready by the predetermined start time. If a rehearsal time (or tech need) was not declared at the time we scheduled our STEAM volunteers, then no STEAM volunteers will be scheduled to setup & run that rehearsal (or tech need). All of our STEAM volunteers have other full-time jobs or are full-time students. Their time must be scheduled and accepted. Even a timely request does not guarantee fulfillment.
Once sound check begins, STEAM volunteers are focused on their active roles and responsibilities for that rehearsal or event. Any late added responsibilities will be difficult or impossible without negatively impacting results and reliability. We hope to add "extra" STEAM volunteers to resolve this flexibility concern, when available.
Please be sure to provide adequate and timely notification and coordination in writing (i.e., Planning Center, Email or Text), so that we can find the appropriate/available STEAM personnel for ALL events, including periodically recurring events (i.e.: Week of Prayer, Sacred Assembly, rehearsals, etc.). STEAM volunteers' time must be scheduled and accepted.
